As one of the most comprehensive neuroscience facilities in the Southeast, the Florida Hospital Neuroscience Institute houses a full range of programs focusing on a variety of disorders affecting the brain, spine and central nervous system. With an expert medical team and technologically advanced diagnostic and treatment options, the Institute is dedicated to providing quality care. In addition to numerous programs, including neuromuscular retraining/biofeedback, pain management and sleep disorders, the Neuroscience Institute offers specialized programs in these areas:
Stroke (Brain Attack)The Neuroscience Institute's comprehensive Brain Attack Center treats more stroke patients than any other hospital in the state and is the only facility of its kind in Central Florida. Florida Hospital is the only JCAHO certified Primary Stroke Center in the Central Florida tri-county area. Brain TumorsPatients in the Brain Tumor Program benefit from the combined expertise of neuro and oncology specialists working closely together to implement the most effective treatment plans possible. The program features leading edge imaging systems and progressive treatment techniques, including Gamma Knife® radiosurgery and Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT). Interventional NeuroradiologyThe Neuroscience Institute is the only facility in Central Florida offering an Interventional Neuroradiology (INR) Program for treatment of central nervous system vascular disorders, such as aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, etc. Spinal DisordersMore than 1,300 complex spinal surgeries, as well as minimally invasive procedures, are performed annually to treat tumors, degenerative disc disease, and other disorders. In addition to using the latest diagnostic tools and treatment methods, the Neuroscience Institute provides physical and occupational therapy services. Parkinson's DiseaseThe Neuroscience Institute physicians treat patients with Parkinson's Disease. For appropriate patients, deep brain stimulation is offered to help treat tremors associated with Parkinson's Disease. Only a limited number of facilities offer this specialized procedure, which is a surgical treatment option for patients not responding to medical therapy. The Florida Hospital Neuroscience Institute Parkinson Outreach Center is the designated National Parkinson Foundation Outreach Center in Central Florida. The center provides referrals to community programs, education resources, support group sessions and exercise classes to people affected by Parkinson's Disease and their carepartners. with sleep disorders achieve more normal sleep patterns. Florida Hospital
is home to American Academy of Sleep Medicine board-certified physicians
who will meet with you to discuss lifestyle factors that may affect
